No One Would Listen - A cappella Fandub

- - -

My a cappella singing of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s song, “No One Would Listen,” from his Broadway musical, “The Phantom of the Opera.”

- - -

Lyrics:

Shamed into solitude

Shunned by the multitude

I learned to listen

In the dark, my heart heard music

I long to teach the world

Rise up and reach the world

No one would listen

I alone could hear the music

Then at last a voice in the gloom

Seemed to cry “I hear you. I hear your fears, your torment and your tears.”

She saw my loneliness

Shared in my emptiness

No one would listen

No one but her

Heard as the outcast hears

No one would listen

No one but her

Heard as the outcast hears

Nocturne - A cappella

- - -

Neither song nor image belong to me.

- - -

Lyrics:

Now let the day

just slip away,

so the dark night

may watch over you.

Velvet blue,

silent, true;

it embraces your heart

and your soul.

Nocturne.

Never cry, never sigh,

you don’t have to wonder why.

Always be, always see,

come and dream the night with me.

Nocturne.

Have no fear

when the night draws near,

and fills you with dreams

and desires.

Like a child asleep,

so warm, so deep,

you will find me there

waiting for you.

Nocturne.

We will fly, claim the sky,

we don’t have to wonder why.

Always be, always see,

come and dream the night with me.

Nocturne.

Though the darkness fades,

it will give way,

when the dark night

delivers the day.

Nocturne.

A Stroll Through the Asylum - Ambient SFX

- - -

More fooling around in Audacity.

- - -

I wanna play a game:

1) Who can tell me which indie computer game the whimpering man (0:33) is from?

2) Who can name the man screaming, “SHUT UP!” repeatedly (1:32), and tell me what movie he’s from?

3) Who can tell me which online computer game the sound of the man being killed (2:51) is from?

- - -

Other than those three, the rest of the sounds are stocks. None of these, save the singing girl, are original. ALL NOISES BELONG TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS AND THEIR CREATORS.

Creepy Singing with Background Ambient - Ambient SFX

- - -

…Um, I dunno how this happened. *Ahem*

- - -

So. Uh. Anyways, made this using several lower-pitched versions of my a cappella cover of O Sacrum Convivium, stock SFX of church bells and a “whisper” ambient.

- - -

Also, just for future warning: I had way too much fun making this. I might end up doing it again.

O Sacrum Convivium (Latin) - A cappella

- - -

The image is from the Korean horror film, “VOICE / Whispering Corridors 4 / Voice Letter.” The song can also be found on the film’s soundtrack; however, I do not believe it is an original piece.

Latin Lyrics:

O sacrum convivium! (repeat 6x)

in quo Christus sumitur:

recolitur memoria passionis eius:

mens impletur gratia:

et futurae gloriae

nobis pignus datur. (repeat 6x)

- - -

English Translation:

O sacred banquet! (repeat 6x)

in which Christ is received,

the memory of his Passion is renewed,

the mind is filled with grace,

and a pledge of future glory

to us is given. (repeat 6x)
